I am looking for a property website that will search other agencies but I can specify the distance from a particular address (or preferably walking distance) and specify a price range?...does such a website exist?

Whilst I'm on the topic...is Wapping a nice place to live?

Probably.

All of scotland is covered by SSPC (scottish solicitors property centre). Most solicitors feed their available property into that site and users can search.
I suspect there is probably something similar for you.

Pretty sure you can search by exact postcode on primelocation, but I think that's the closest you're going to get.

To answer your other question, yes, Wapping is a decent place to live - but it depends on what you're looking for.

It's in walking distance from the City, a couple of good pubs, big Waitrose. The area is probably the most gentrified of all of East London I'd say. As all the warehouses were converted into living space, price has rocketed, and I'd imagine that 75% of Wapping inhabitants (who have moved there in the last decade) work for an investment bank, insurance company, hedge fund or other similar high end professional services company - this is a massively sweeping generalisation, but when looking extensively at properties in Wapping a couple of years ago every single propert I viewed belonged to a banker.

It does have a few other non-warehouse type areas (pleasant converted estates, etc.) which are also pretty decent. Despite this, I'd probably say it was the least charismatic place in all of East London.

Doesn't meet the specification in the OP...clearly not what I asked for.
You asked for an exact address and the ability to specify a distance from that address, seems like you can do that on rightmove.

Granted you can't specify a house number but in a city the distance between properties with the same postcode is negligible.

It actually only looks at the first part of the post code though....really annoying!

It's a shame Rightmove doesn't seem to include derelict and repossessed homes... or any houses that are just ridiculously cheap in my area :(

It generally only covers mortgageable properties thats why, the agent will decide whether to rightmove list it or not.

It definitely includes lots of repossessed properties, i have bought one advertised through rightmove myself. Derelict properties generally only appeal to cash buyers and will be being sold through auction with that in mind. :)

If you're renting, you could try http://www.padmapper.co.uk/

You can specify price range and other filters and it puts all available properties on a Google map. You can also add "places" (specific address) and for each property listing it will pull in the walking and driving distance to that place.

I've only just started using it today. It looks nice and easy to use but doesn't have a great deal of properties as it gets the listings from other websites. Anyone else has any luck with this site?
