I have a copy of SC: forged alliance that i remember playing on my e6400 when it was at stock (2.13ghz), i could only do the tinest battles otherewise it would just destroy my pc :p, now i have it at 3.2ghz and have a faster graphics card, is it worth installing again? If i could do 4 player battles i'd be pretty happy :)

thanks

My E6600 at 3.4 used to struggle!

Need to install it again now I have my i7 . . . .

Quad core is greatly appreciated with this game!

I used to play on an AMD X2 5600 and it would slow down on a big maps with hundreds of units. However, on my i3 it absolutely flies - no slowdown at all really. I assume the hyperthreading really helps, so 2 more actual cores certainly would.

Me and three mates would play FA vs 2-3 tweaked up AI's. It would reduce my 3.7ghz E6600 or my mates Quad to rubble resulting in super slowed down gameplay. I don't think there is a CPU on earth that can run the game with a lot of units :)

1 - No it doesn't need it
2 - But with more cores the better it run's SC doesn't realy use it well but SC FA does a better job - Use Core Maximizer with it for the best results
3 - Also if your playing on your own get or skirmishes get the 2gig tool you can find on the SC fourms which allows for SC to use more then 2gig's of ram stops annoying crashes in big battles can't remember the details but I used it back in the day only work offline thou :)
4 - Dont join muiltplayer unless your playing with someone you know or your pc seems to run it fine as people get annoyed if people lag or have low specs pc's for SC as it does eat the machine :)

No it doesnt need them but they're very useful. The benchmarks for the core maximiser speak for themselves tbh, excellent tool to use if you have a quad core :)

just had a quick game, me and 2 ai, ran perfectly maxed out :D As long as theres no more than me and 2-3 ai i think its gonna run fine :) Im using the core maximizer thing, but didnt bother getting a memory fix but didnt have any problems.
