I don't think she does, as I said in my earlier post, isn't there a law in place that the government can overrule her?

However, I guarantee that if the old bird was running the country (like they did in the old days) things would be done a lot better than the clowns we have at the moment. Her Madge for the win!
 
Strictly speaking, she has loads of Royal Prerogatives. She could use them whenever she likes.

It probably wouldn't go down too well with most of the electorate though and would end the monarchy. So by convention, she doesn't.

Hereditary rule has no place in a modern society. At least we can get rid of the politicians after a while when they have tarnished a bit.

Technically she still does :D but Parliament also have the power to throw her out if they were to please. Unfortunately the furthest she ever takes it is to show her displeasure at what's going in the form of her Christmas speech or when Charlie has a moan through the press :(

I say give her back her armour and sword and send her into No.10 to kick ass :D :D

I always laugh at the deportations. It is just a measure of how barking we Brits are. We send our crims to paradise and the rest of us stay on this cold, cramped, rainy, grey little rock in the Atlantic. Go figure. :rolleyes: :p

I would have Queeny in charge, that would be such a laugh to have one of the richest and most powerful countries in the world run by a good old fashioned monarch. We wouldn't take any crap from the EU anymore, in fact she would probably rally the militia and mount a good old fashioned invasion. :D

Herself and the rest of the Royals are ambassadors and diplomats for our country.

She also has the power to disolve parliament should things go completey boobs skyward.

Yeah, sure it costs a lot to maintain the Monarch, but it is the Monarch. Most of the expense is maintaining the historical buildings and artefacts blah blah, but the expense of the Royal family aboslutely pales in comparison to the cost of the slackers we have in the community.

Losing the Royal family would also put a huge amount of extra responsibility onto Parliament. Much, much more of the PM's time would be taken up visiting the countries that the Royal family do in their place. They are also the figure heads of quite a number of charities afaik.

And those who think they are there just on holiday, well.. need a clue.

Pfft, when she visited other countries that was a symbol of this country, its a dam shame that it was retired. Mr Tony Blair didn't like it, so he stopped it.

She also pays taxes like we do, thats why Windsor Castle is open to the public, etc.

You think she doesn't do anything? Well how about you actually research before you think? She probably works harder than you do :rolleyes:
 
I wonder what it would be like if she desolved parliment and took control.

I here by declare that elevensies are now enforced on everyone, if you do not take elevensies you will be sentanced to death!
