Does the Socom 3 (ps2) headset work with ps3?

Hey,

Just a quick question does the usb headset that comes with Socom 3 for the ps2 work on with the ps3?

This game can be found for about £5 with the headset, or should I just buy the logitech vantage usb headset for £20?

I currently have the metal gear solid headset for the ps3, but i'm fed up with its shocking sound quality!!!

It *might* work. But if you want an assured quality headset for the Playstation 3 it is probably best holding off for the Official Playstation 3 headset. I think it is being released next month and actually with Socom: Confrontation.

Yes, any USB headset will work on the PS3, the old Socom one is used by quite a few people i know.

Thanks, but at £5 surely it's worth it if it works I'm pretty sure the official headset will still have problems that all bluetooth headset have with the ps3

No there is specific a firmware update when this comes out to improve connection between the new socom headset and PS3, its also dual mic and comes with its own charge cradle.

I might have to buy one in this case. But can they not improve the audio quality with existing bluetooth headsets

I mean, not all bluetooth headsets were made shoddily by poor manufacturers.

A good "quality" headset is about the £40 mark, much more than most of us paid for a BT headset. Think thats the problem some are using a £40 BT head set and others are using a £10 one, the difference in quality is pretty high, hopefully socom will sell well and more people will use the new headset. Personally Sony should sell the PS3 with the new headset included in the box, this would be a sensible if a bit late.
