When was that filmed though?
Not that it really matters but it was actually a repeat from quite a while back, as I knew what happened lateri nth e show when they tracked a 4x4 to a container on a farm.

Why not just use a handsfree to start with..! (to those opposing the new ruling) they're like a tenner for a bluetooth set.

Im for the ban,i see too many diddies driving like diddies and then you pass and they are on the phone

I see about 10 people a day thinking they are cool walking around a shop with the earpiece in.....really gay looking imo.

I think i just hate drivers who use mobiles,i had a guy at work who kept asking how would he know that his phone fitted in some phone holder.......all i kept doing was pointing at the MAX WIDTH and MAX DEPTH labels that where on the back of the packet next to a picture of a ruler that was TO SCALE!!!!!!!

"Hold it up against it and see if it fits."
"How do i know it will fit??"

Looks like some business guy aswell, thick as.....

But you can talk to the passenger with both hands on the wheel, just like you can use a mobile with a handsfree kit. However, navigating a junction, roundabout or whatever while only having one hand free to operate the vehicle reduces your ability to control that vehicle, not to mention the moment when said mobile user drops his precious phone halfway through the maneuver and immediately starts scrabbling around on the floor for it, or they recieve a text and can't possibly wait until their journey is over to read it (or, indeed, send a reply).

So, remind me again, why should we ban talking to the passenger?

ban smoking then, all these idiots who smoke while driving.
what happens when navigating a junction the fag falls out of their mouth, im sure they will show more of a reaction than if they dropped a mobile.

IMHO in most cases you're no more dangerous driving while holding a mobile than you are making a call using a hands free.

touchy, you are the one angered by something on telly that is old :P hehe

i generally have my mobile volume on low so generally i dont hear it ringing, when im just out and about having the ear piece in makes sense.

BT Headsets = As gay as Graham Norton! :p

People who use them whilst walking around = GAYER than Graham Norton! :D ******s. :p

If you can't use a mobile and drive safely at the same time then there's something wrong with you imo.

You'd be wrong then, both by all the current research available and the idiots I see on the road most days.

I take that back, you would be perfectly in control of the car, just like everyone else who frequents these forums, it's the normal folks out there who can't cope; hell, I see too many people who can't walk properly and hold a conversation on a mobile at the same time, never mind drive.

I don't think £60 is enough.

So why punish us all? Why not just do the retards who can't use them at the same time with a dangerous driving or driving without due care and attention?

Women are never in control, phone or not. :p
Too true. My gf came in saying that she'd parked her car at a funny angle. In my 'just worked a full day dispite feeling sick as a dog' state I said I'll sort it later.

She then goes outside and I hear a car shuffling around on the drive, I go out to see that she's dragged the front corner of her car down the side of the house. "I had to hit the wall to get it out"

Back on topic- I think its a good thing that the laws coming in. I find talking on my mobile VERY distracting and when my job put me on the road for a couple of hours a day I invested in a handsfree headunit. Even with that I still pull over when its safe to do so to finish the conversation, unless I'm on a nice empty stretch of A road.

Something that I think may be targetted in the near future is sat nav's. So many people seem to think its a good idea to situate them right in their eye line. I also had a very scary moment when a guy tapping on his Tom Tom completely missed the fact that their was a bend in the road and was headed straight for me

I agree anyone who cant talk into a small device while driving is retarded, it makes me laugh when im out with someone and they tell everyone to shhh so they can drive.

Of course they could never single out who is safe to drive with a mobile or not so its easier just to ban it all.

firstly, i'm not having a go at you at all ok?
but, can you tell me why in your opinion making a call on a mobile with the thing in your hand is more dangerous than using a hands free kit?
