Does this behaviour seem odd to anyone else?

The only suspicious bit is wandering around your property.

And looking round the van, especially at the hitch-lock, and general condition/security.

They'll have those two cars out the way in minutes buy smashing the windows and letting off the handbrake then rolling them out into the road.

Best thing you can do is get the van on its legs and take the wheels off, unless you've got a decent wheel lock covering the bolts, but do get it on its legs!

I'm 100% they want it, even the girl had a sneaky look!

For the first while of that video, I thought that perhaps they'd broken down, the first car was a random driver checking if they needed help, but they opted to push it off the road and wait for someone they knew to come get them.

So that first car drives off after being told "nah mate, it's okay", and then the bloke comes to your house looking for a bit of help... but then he walks out of your driveway and his body language is not in any way conducive to him explaining to the girl that there doesn't seem to be anybody home.

And then he goes staring at the caravan in what I would very much call "casing mode".

Perplexing. Is the Saxo still there? I take it you're sleeping with a flashlight taped to your head and a baseball bat, tonight?

It does look pretty odd. Seems unlikely they would have been able to get a lift so quickly after having broken down. Perhaps he was just checking the caravan wasn't decrepit? He doesn't seem to really do much though.

Letting down the tyres and generally anything to make it an effort to steal seems like your best bet.

I don't think I could soundly sleep at night if that happened to my house. I hope you're staying up with your night vision goggles on :D

OP we need an update, did they come through the night, is the caravan gone, did you survive the night?

They were throwing them off the scent - whilst he sat waiting in the caravan (razor-wired baseball bat and letterbox-sized poo in hand) they robbed the empty house, and stole the foot pump from his shed to pump up the two flat tyres on their Saxo.

On the plus side they left some lucky heather on the kitchen table

The OP stayed awake all night to keep himself sharp. Unfortunately he has just realised that he has been staring at a Polaroid that they stuck in front of his CCTV camera and the caravan is now gone. The police have finally arrived and after investigating have charged the OP for not having valid road tax on the Mondeo.

To echo what others have said:

Odd vid.

To be honest, it looks to me that they've broken down, are waiting for a lift, and spent the time admiring your caravan. And when I say "admiring" I really do mean "admiring", rather than weighing up stealing it.

She doesn't look like she's wanting to get involved with trespassing, so just hangs back at the end of the drive.

Obviously feeling it's ok to just wander up someone's drive to check out their caravan is not really on - he's a blatant nob - but suspect it was innocent beyond that.

What planet are you on. I mean, seriously.

If someone brazenly walking on someone else's property multiple times while displaying highly nervous body language and continuously turning his head to the OP's property even when going back out doesn't look like suspicious behaviour to you, then I genuinely feel sorry for your future family and the danger you will one day put them in. The whole situation screams "WRONG", and you still give them the benefit of the doubt. Frightening.

I have just been sat browsing t'interweb when one of my dogs barked for no apparent reason. I then get a text from the CCTV saying it has picked up movement so I had a look on my phone and there is some young lad in a hoodie milling around down the side of my house where we have a 27foot caravan parked, he spots the camera and leaves & is then picked up by a silver Vauxhall Signum/Vectra Estate about 1 minute later.

I watched the footage back and it appears that this lad & his female friend pull up in a black Saxo & then appear to have a conversation with someone in what looks like a black Vauxhall Meriva who then crawls past our house before driving off. The girl stays by the road outside but the lad comes to the front door & appears to not knock on it, then vanishes out of frame for 30-40 seconds & heads back to the road, speaks to the girl then comes back straight down the side of the house & has a look around.

The odd thing is they have left the Saxo parked outside, it's still there now. Anyone else think this is odd, if they knocked then I'd think they wanted assistance with a broken down Saxo however why come back for a look around?
OP needs to post video from CCTV to see if it really is odd behaviour.

EDIT: Turns out he has.. opps, should read full thread before posting.
