Does this count as merge in turn or am I just rude?

Thanks guys, at least I know I'm not missing or misinterpreting some obscure rule of the road! Yes to confirm I'm going past Lego, not into it or out of it.

Its obviously totally designed for that which is why there are 2 lanes onto the roundabout. What else is the outside lane for, as there is no 3rd exit, your exit is the last somebody could be reasonably expected to use.

It isnt your fault that the other drivers are all idiots.

Is this not a case of people confusing the exit of the roundabout as being 1 lane (a rather wide lane granted) because there is no markings splitting the road into 2 lanes combined with most people not understanding the concept of merge in turn and what the big arrows mean.

I had a highway maintenance van trying to occupy both lanes while I was in a left hand lane trundling past a queue in the right hand lane before a roadworks. He left a gap about 1 inch wider than my car while trying to wave the right hand lane past while holding me still, vrooombye! I think the guy he was trying to wave through also understood merge in turn.

In conclusion, people are mostly idiots, remember school? Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

Personally, having done that roundabout a thousand times, I do what you do.

However during rush hour I go through the Great Park instead

Yeah I'm thinking that's the smarter idea. Until the school holidays begin the two routes seem to be about the same in terms of time taken, but as summer approaches it's only going to get more jammed so I might avoid the Lego route completely.

I with those that say, it's fine.. Merge in turn is exactly what you should do.. as long as you do it considerately, which it sounds like you are..

I've found some places where big 'merge in turn' signs are put up with a nice diagram of the obvious, and this tends to stop people getting bent out of shape over it..


Still as idiotic as people are labelled for not using the Merge-in-turn, I see as many 'idiots' that don't understand Merge in turn and overtake cars that are merging even if their is only 20ft left, and pushing in.. causing heavy braking and it all backing up even more.. why people can't just let a nice 'flow' of merging occur I don't know..

I'd do exactly the same in that situation, although when the inevitable horn blasting and gesturing ensues as I try to merge in, I'd be fighting the urge to get out and remonstrate with the morons for not knowing the rules of the road

the left hand lane is for people to queue to go into legoland, the right hand lane is for those not queuing so they can skip past and carry on.
