Does this mean what I think it means? (Work related email)

Or even made redundant and re-employed on a lower wage, etc.

This is illegal, if they make someone redundant they cannot fill the post untill 90 days have passed.

I would question this email and speak to the person who sent it and demand clarification. I for one cannot stand coroporate bull-poo.

they are legally required to warn people before making redundancies.

thats what they are doing.

Reply back and ask if he/she needs some help "leveraging their paradigms" or something along those lines. Good ol' buzzword bingo :D

As you all know, we operate in a highly competitive market place
We are losing money to the Chinese

and we need to ensure that, as far as we can, we take this and other pressures into account in determining both the direction we wish to take the Company and what we believe can be achieved.
We have no way to compete with the cheap ass products and services and have entered panic planning mode.
We aim to continue to build upon our relationship with <major customer's name here> and, with this in mind, over the next few weeks the Board and I will be reviewing our strategy and objectives with a view to ensuring that the way we are structured and operate delivers what is required.
over the next few weeks the board and I will be off loading as much of our invested money as we can back into our personal accounts before the whole lot goes south for the winter. P.S. apologies if you had a pension with us.
I and your directors (bad grammar on your bosses part)will be discussing potential changes with relevant colleagues so that we include as many people’s views as possible before decisions are made.

Your directors and I will be deciding who we want to keep on and who we want to fire shortly, we are open to all forms of bribery and sexual persuasion from as many people as possible before decisions are made.

Whilst I do not wish to pre-judge the outcome of this review I do strongly believe that some changes will flow from it and I look forward to your continuing support as we move the Company forward.

Whilst you and i already know the outcome of this review, fear not, changes will be proposed but so poorly implemented that you will barely notice.
Regards,

<company director's name here>

To me this sounds like layoffs are coming...Does anyone think it could mean something different?
