Already got the required fans.

Dont really need a quad, already got a Q9550 in another machine that I am going to use solely for encoding (Sony Vegas & Maya mostly), so I'm just looking to get some load off that machine and use this kit as my main rig for day to day stuff which will include a lot of gaming.

Got a Q9450 bundle sat doing nowt as well to be honest but I fancy some shiny new stuff to play with to be honest.

Just use the Q4950 bundle, it's what it was made for.

I know fella but its been a while since I had a new build and I fancy the swap to AMD to see what this Phenom business is about.

Flogging that Q9450 bundle will probably make it cost neutral anyway, if a little less powerful.

Spec looks ok though?

Yeah it should be fine - everything matches everything else :-)

That said - the chip you have apparently is a great lover of the biostar boards, and there's the possibility to unlock the 4th core with some chips with those boards.

Audigex, which Biostar board would you match up with the 720? Just curious as I'm buying that CPU in a few weeks and have been struggling to make up my mind on the board.
