Does this warrant a return/exchange?

Last night i finally got my watch strap the right size, and am chuffed with the watch. The watch is like this- http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/sport/c7/c7sks.html but with a white face, i got it in the CW sale. Today while inspecting it, i found a dent on the bezel. I'm usually very overprotective/overanalytical about new things, since its a black bezel it's not that noticeable, but if it was like some of them (just stainless steel) i'd send it back straight away. Anyways just like to see your opinions. From the picture (assuming it works) you can see the dent has been done during the manufacturing process, and not by me ( the number is printed into the dent, and there is no scratching.). I'd rather have this watch than not, however im a bit miffed.

The picture makes it more obvious than it usually is, but what are your thoughts?.. Worth an email to CW to see where i stand?

yes it merits a return, of course with damaeg it would have to go back almost immediately, if you have had it 2 weeks for example I think you might have problems

- The only probelm with sending it back, would be the fact it was a sale item, and now the sale has ended. I'd only send it back if i could get a replacement for the same model (C7) though id be ok with a different colour i think.

I've had it for a week maybe, but havnt worn it because the strap was too big, so it was a while till i got it re-sized. The lack of any real wear on the watch reflects this. ( today and yesterday evening have been the first time i've worn this watch- it is not back in its box till i decide what to do...

EDIT--
Would it be possible for them to offer a repair ( aka replacing the black bezel, or is this integral to the structure of the watch/ not able to be removed?)

- Sorry to revive an old thread, had an email on Friday.

I can live with it and recieve a 10% discount (the watch was £167 if i remember correctly)

They have run out of any spares of this watch, the 2 month return policy still stands i guess, so i can return it if i want to although its a really good quality watch for a very good price, nevertheless i do have doubts whether this watch is too nice for me, and for uni life when i go after the summer, i could send it back (paid £240 in total incl SS bracelet), and get a seiko diver of somesort.. ( also if any of this model are returned from the sale they could use that as spares, although there is no guarantee this will happen). There is however a new design of this watch coming out in september, (which keeps the black bezel) so i could enquire if they are likely to have any spares of the black bezel..

To give you a sense of scale, that bezel is 4cm in diamater, so while the picture makes it look like a whopping great dent, its not all that big. My dad, who doesnt exactly pay much attention to detail thinks i was making a fuss over nothing (but now thinks i should take the 10%).

Any suggestions would be most welcomed.. i appreciate however you're all probably sick of my inability to make basic decisions... :P

I don't agree with your dad, you paid for something new and you should get it. That's like paying for a brand new Corsair 800D and then found out that the side of the case you don't look at has a dent in it.

Yeah it's no big deal, but why should you be stuck with it? It's their problem.

problem is it's a really nice watch, and it was at a very good price, with 10% cashback, and 10% off (hypothetically if i keep the watch) it would have cost me about £200 with both straps, when a similar design costs £290 at the moment with just the SS bracelet (although the leather strap doesnt fit my wrist :P ) ... So basically i can either take the 10% off or send it back/exchange it for a different watch, possibly a c5 aviator...- since the c7 is somewhat dressy im worried i simply wont wear it, i know it sounds stupid..

EDIT-- Im feeling exchanging it for a C5 aviator, and whack on a nato strap?.. yes i know its overdone on watch forums but for the rest of the world you dont see it that much :P ?

Update-- I'm the closest i've got to seriously sending this watch back :P .....

As a replacement, what do you guys think of this, maybe with a nato strap aswell? http://www.creationwatches.com/prod...jewels-100m-snzf17k1-snzf17k-snzf17-1464.html ..... i'l wear it constantly without worry of scuffing it, whereas i think i will need to scuff the C7 up in order to wear it out- bit of an oxymoron but i think you get the picture...

You're never going to be happy having that watch with the dent - it will always bug you and you know it! If you could live with it this thread would be dead and buried already ;)

I'd go for the Seiko - they're very good....almost got one myself a few times. The appearance is down to personal opinion.....as long as you like it, right?

Jeez, what are you going to be like when you have some serious decisions to make? :D

ahha ^^ this is simply the tip of the iceberg... Choosing a degree course to do was hell.......

-- and im having a look at a 007 Seiko, and thinking of putting a james bond nato strap on it (the striped ones)

Yes i've reported the fault and i'm just waiting to tell them what im going to do- they cant offer a repair or a exchange, so i can either get 10% off (£16) or send it back, and im like 80% sure i will be doing the latter.. i just can't validate having a watch for best, i'd much prefer to have a watch i can wear everyday and change the straps when i get bored.... Christopher Ward have a no quibbles 60 days return thing anyways.
