Yes, but the 2nd gpu will likely only see usage if it needs to do work. I think that game has locked fps doesn't it? I know Shankly said it works for him.
Ah ok, so the second card will only kick in if needed. I think it was running at 60fps so probably didn't need second card then.
Got another question LT. Was running BF4 in Mantle with crossfire enabled. Read that Mantle doesn't support Crossfire, but it felt smooth and fluid.
I enabled Direct X to see epic Crossfire performance. Now both cards are working in crossfire but game doesn't feel as smooth? Any reason why this is?
Mantle definitely supports crossfire, so not sure where you read that.Mantle just feels a whole lot smoother than DirectX. That's all your seeing. It really is like playing a different game at times. Just remember though that the online part of BF4 is quite buggy and does not always reflect true Mantle smoothness. I still find sometimes when playing online on either DX or Mantle that there is a random cpu spike that lowers fps for a split second then it shoots back up again. Some sort of network/server issue i think. Its been like that since they updated the server patch months ago. To confirm that is the issue try the single player part of the gam. If you get zero spikes, you know the issue.
Ok mate, yeah I tried DX crossfire and then Mantle, both single player and online. Game has a kind of stutter in DX. Only in BF4, other games are fine in DX + crossfire.
If Mantle does support crossfire I'll just go back to Mantle. Might as well use it.
Cheers bud.
It definitely does support it. Even my geriatric 7970's smash it with Mantle (well, unless using more than 120% scaling at max AA which uses too much vram of course).

Disclaimer: I did cheat a bit, i ran 4K res to up the gpu usage. There is also a bit of cpu overhead while running it in Windowed mode. This is how it works roughly under crossfire in Mantle when running under windowed mode.
Mantle is so awesome that somehow it even makes crossfire work (not at full capacity) in Borderless/Window mode.
1080P - 60% Scaling per gpu
1440P - 70% scaling per gpu
4K - 90% scaling
Watch in 1080P quality.
Sweet, I'll stick with Mantle then.
Cheers.

Feel honoured Broom, you have a youtube video name after you.![]()
Crossfire doesn't seem to be working properly in titanfall for me as neither gpu will go above 50% even though im getting lower than 60fps at 4k.
It appears just to get the exact same fps as single gpu but spread the load to the 2 cards.
Steps 3 and 6 from here:

Ymmv.
With 1x1 optimize, you need to disable or reduce shadows to stop the flicker iirc.
