Does updating BIOS reset overclocking setup?

Hi,

I've got an a8n-sli, which is at bios version 1009.
I see I'm quite a bit behind. The current level is 1014.

If I update the bios, do I lose all of my overclocking setup?
Also, will I be able to get the same clock speeds back on the new bios, or do updates have funny effects on overclockability.

I didnt on my Asus board but iirc when i had my abit board it did, dont hold me on that though.

You're supposed to reset to default before you flash the BIOS, it can cause issues if you don't.

anyone know if it will break the machine if I update the chipset too prior to bios upgrade?

ok.
no worries about my last post. Chipset now updated & works okay with BIOS 1009.

Just a bit worried now about updating the BIOS & losing my ability to o/c so much.

You can always reflash the old bios. Just udate before flashing new one.

Every time I update the BIOS on A8N32-Sli it resets all the setting to default.
