Does your soundcard affect performance?

Can anyone recommend a good soundcard for around £50? I was thinking of the Audidgy 4 OEM from overclockers £41 delivered.

1/2) If you are patient, you may be able to snatch an OEM version of the X-Fi for a lil over £50. That would be better overall to the A4.

3) Hardly. In Anandtech's test, the CPU usage is a tiny bit lower on the A4 compared to the X-Fi. But I don't think there is much difference even if you go from onboard -> A4/X-Fi. Small tweaks to the system would probably make more difference. In other word, don't buy a sound card to increase your frame rate. If it does, take it as gravy.
