What is it with people walking their dogs at night? Seen about 4 or 5 people go past my house in the past half an hour walking their dog. Seems a bit of an unusual hour. Mostly elderly people too! :p

My next door neighbour does it, he takes it out during the day but takes it out around 10:30 PM every night, just up the road and back, dont know why, maybe to let the dog have a pee but seems strange thing to do.

I walk my dog before bed almost every night. Don't see what might be thought of as strange tbh.

We some times walk our dog late at night, if we've had a busy day and only gave her a short walk earlier. We don't do it much though because she gets worried if she thinks we can't see her (she is a dark colour).

When my dog was alive, I walked him in the late evening and I've been accused of being weird for it before but I really don't get what's weird about it. He pretty much lived for walks and food so he got three walks a day and one of those was in the evening.

Most other regular human activities don't have specific times of the day that are considered to be the normal times unless there is a specific reason for it, and I see no reason for there being a particular time to walk a dog.

My nan does this every night around 10. I don't see it as weird really.

It's easier to go through the front door and across the road than going to the garden because then she'd have to deal with 2 extremely hyperactive Great Danes who are almost as big as she is.

What's unusual about these hours ? See plenty of people outside until it's 2-3 am... That includes dog walkers. Night>Day :).

My old mate parents would let the dog out on the front garden for a run around and wee and it would come straight back in and the dog had a afternoon and evening walk so I doubt its necessary to take it for a walk at night.

People tend to do it before they go to bed, so the dog gets into a routine and doesn't go in the middle of the night on the kitchen floor.

It's pretty harsh to expect your dog to last for ages without being able to pee. Many dont want their dogs to pee/poo in their gardens anyway.

I just got in from walking mine and I took him early tonight, I love walking the dog in the early hours of the morning as there's not many people around and it's nice and quiet, only ever see a few taxis, milkmen and of course the drunks on the weekends. Summers definitely best though as it's getting light around 4am, and yes, I can't sleep!

Best time to find dead bodies. Have you ever noticed that corpses always seem to be found by people walking their dogs?

Not sure about dog walkers, but a neighbour of ours was mowing the lawn at 9pm which I thought was a bit odd - how does he see anything?
