Dog Walking *Rant*

My 2 cents.

No one can know for sure what's going on in a dogs head. If you're 100% sure it won't turn then that's fine so long as you don't put it to the test on the general public.

As for the whole car analogy earlier, would you care if drivers deliberatley left the road and slammed their breaks on infront of your kids then went back on the road and carried on? It shouldn't matter if they do because you know the breaks are going to stop anything bad from happening every time right?

It's the same reason you teach your kids not to run out infront of traffic.

We live in a time where if someone doesn't want your dog right on them you have to respect their wishes and keep it away from them.

Seems simple to me. OP I am sympathetic though, it's not on if other people are allowed to take their dogs in the park off lead.

them but knock them over whilst playing cause he has no sense no feeling.

LOL, my new dog is the same. He ran head first into the patio doors a while back. Didnt even faze him. He is constantly banging his head into stuff and whacking his tail against stuff. :D

In your opinion. How did the other person know that?

Most 'normal' people can make a judgement, and know when a dog is going to attack and just doing what dogs do. This is just more rubbish.

I will declare myself as a dog lover and Boxer owner (my fifth) to begin with.

Some of the provocative drivel being put forward in the fantasy scenarios propounded by the anti dog briggade are almost beyond belief; especially as some are from people who I would usually read with respect.

There must be some serious subconcious reasons behind some of the posts.

I'm with MNuTz; leave us responsible pet owners alone and go after the morons who keep illegal dogs that have been defined as dangerous.

Just as some people should not be allowed to have children, some should not be allowed to keep animals.

many a walk he will just dive head first in a hawthorn bush without a care in the world. bleeding from all the cuts.

I think we must have one of not many springers that dont like water ie swimming he will only go in so far so that his feet are on the bottom and thats it.

Media hysteria doesn't help either. The amount of people who comment when she is on the lead as to why she isn't muzzled. I am sick of saying:

"BOXER DOGS ARE NOT ON THE DANGEROUS DOG LIST"

I had a tiny dog for a few weeks, looking after it for a friend who went on holiday, literally came up to about my knee (I was about 5'6 at the time), think it was some kind of spaniel. I was taking it for a walk and someone said why isnt it muzzled. I replied with "so it can bite you" :D She shut up after that.
