Dog Walking.

Every time the dog pulls, just tug the lead without saying anything to it. Repeat as many times as needed, and it will soon receive the message.

This is so wrong.

The 180 and the stop or go techniques are the best. Do not be afriad to dominate with your voice with both methods, but make sure you use your voice right away upon stopping/doing a 180.

Remember to praise when they are doing it properly.

Oh, and walk with purpose, head high and shoulders back. Sends a clear message that you are the lead.

Don't go for a Halti headcollar. They work most of the time, but not for everyone, and they're a lot a hassle. I work in a pet shop and I've probably sold about 50 of the new Ancol harnesses, and every single one has solved the problem, in most cases instantly. The one issue we've had is that two were returned because the owner had two very stocky jack russells and they rubbed behind the legs, but every other breed - absolutely fine.

Stop and go works too, but the harness certainly helps. The one you want is this:

make sure it's not this (these are designed just to have more control over the dog, not to actually stop the behaviour of pulling):

Your best bet is a harness. Saying that, walking in slippy conditions like wet grass and mud is going to be lethal with a dog that pulls. Previously twisted my ankle and have a torn ligament/tendon on the side of my knee as a consequence :(
Good luck.
