Bah! Was trying to download X-plane for iPad and stupidly bought X-plan iPhone version :(

Is there anyway to revoke a purchase or get a refund? Or do Apple basically just tell you to sod off?

It's not cheap either at £5~

In iTunes go to Account, then transaction history, report a problem, say you bought wrong version, cross fingers.

I went through that to try and get my money back on NewsRack as it wasn't as advertised and they basically told me where to go.

But you should be fine, I imagine the option is there for a reason :)

Aha, giving it a try. There's an option for "Inadvertlently purchased application" which should apply here!

Done this before but they said it was a 1 off and be more careful. Refund got sorted within a day

Yes, I've done that, I got this message back.

Dear Feek,
I have reversed the charge for the accidental purchase you reported. You will see a credit of £2.39, plus any applicable taxes, in three to five business days. Please note that the iTunes Store Terms of Sale state that all sales are final, so this is a one-time exception.

The best way to avoid unintentional purchases is to use the Shopping Cart. That way, you can consolidate and review your selections carefully and buy them when you're ready. Here's how to use the Shopping Cart:

Lots of love,

And the refund duly came through.

Well Sue may be in Love with Feek but her link was not very helpful

With iTunes 8.2.1 or earlier, you can choose to have iTunes add the items you want to buy to a shopping cart instead of purchasing them in 1-click. The shopping cart adds an extra layer of protection against accidental purchases.

Note: With iTunes 9.0 or later, only 1-click purchasing is available.

So how many of us are still using v8.2.1 or before

It's obviously an out of date generic email, I didn't even click on the link because I'm not interested in changing the way I buy stuff. The important thing was that I got the refund I requested.

I always thought you couldn't buy Apps using the shopping cart?

Or at least couldn't do at when the App store was launched... :o
