Domain email through g-mail

I bought my own domain through easyspace, they offered a good price and where one of the very few to offer ".scot" address with the domain name i want.

I've been trying to set up g-mail to send and receive using the forwarding email address. While it forward fine I can't seem to receive the confirmation email to confirm the option to reply. Tried a couple of guides to no avail.

Any help/suggestions?

When you say the confirmation email, is that one which is being sent from easyspace? I assume you've checked your spam folder (had to ask!)

A more robust option would be to modify your domain's DNS (MX) records to point to Google's mail servers, however I believe this might require a G Suite membership which costs a few dollars per month.
