I have an idea for a website (No one has ever done it before), but require a fairly catchy domain name. The problem is my idea uses two or three very very common words in its concept.

Does anyone know of a really good service for finding good TLDs?

Also how much difference do you think not having a .com over a .net makes? I want to use .com really as this site should eventually have international appeal when running.

Thanks

Many of the domain suppliers will offer numerous variations of the name you search for. Although not brilliant, it might help you come up with something suitable. Also, do a search for 'picking the right domain name', how to choose a killer domain' or some such thing. Failing this, you should approach someone you trust for a brain-storming session. I have a non-disclosure agreement you can tailor and use if you like.

Personally, I don't like the .net unless it's absolutely relevant and/or necessary but if I were you, I would register the more common extensions anyway i.e. .com, .co.uk, .net, .org, .biz, .eu, .info or whatever are relevant to your project but you don't have to limit yourself to just one.

I'm sure there are more important issues to consider and someone more knowledgable might join in later but these are my personal opinions and I hope they help.
