Domain renewal - problem!

Hi there, well it seems that a domain expired after 6 years last week, and there have been no emails or contact from the host or whoever to renew the url. It was originally bought using www.register.com and as it's 6 years later the webmaster to the company who originally sorted this out has left and I need to try and help out.

I've run a WhoIs search and found out some information but on register.com it states the need for a username and password which we don't have so I followed on the 'lost username password' section and it wouldn't take it when I typed in the correct domain name so I don't know what to, this really needs sorting.

(oh and on register.com it still says that the domain in unavailable so I don't really get this)

Help!

If Register.com is the registrar, contact them and see what kind of verification details they want from you to let you renew the domain :)

Yeh I have emailed them although I think that the response will be slightly limited, I was just checking on here whether I could do anything about this. Why is the domain name 'unavailable' when trying to re-sign up for it at another website? - It has expired, so therefore shouldn't it be available again?

There's a ~30 day grace period in which you can renew the domain :)
