Hi,

Thinking of treating myself to a takeaway tonight maybe, but I havent had a dominos pizza in like, 2 years.

What are peoples opinions on them lately?

If you're one of the "omg takeaway food" or the "cook fresh food man, f0 realz" then the door is over there.

I think they're pretty horrible.

The bases are sometimes stale, the crusts don't taste nice, the ingredients they use don't taste fresh, the cheese they use is disgusting, and the calorie count is through the roof. I can't think of anything to recommend them.

They're alright. I've always had a thing for Pizza Hut though, but I do seem to be in the minority.

Domnios always seems to taste undercooked to me.

not as good as they used to be imo. ive had some crap pizza's from there more recently, over cooked , damp bases etc.

they dont seem to put as much topping on as they once did either, you get quite a lot if you do the pepperoni passion etc but if you add your own toppings they barely add anything!

i think quality control is failing

Personally I prefer Direct Pizza over all other pizza places. Far better quality, not too much grease in my opinion and very very tasty. :)

tbh, i love Dominos, Pizza Hut is way too greasy imo

PH is certainly greasy, I will give you that. It's tolerable if you don't eat it that often though I've found. More than once a month and it becomes too much in my opinion.

Will have to give Express a try as I've not had any from there before. The best pizza I've ever had has been down some local italian resteraunt which was made in house I believe.

Do Dominos still have that open kitchen thing where you can see the pizza being made?

Though to be honest I was thinking of just doing an internet order anyway.

The quality of our Dominos has gone downhill, soggy bases, sparse toppings and the taste. The Pizza Hut ones have now turned into a base with grease. We’ve stopped getting takeaway pizzas, if we really want one then it’s trip to Pizza Express for a sit down meal.

had one the other week (also first time in about a year)

bought 2 large ones... 2 for the price of 1

ate all of mine + half of gf's... they were just how i remembered them :D

out of whats available in my area they are the best, i prefer them to pizza hut as they are way too greasy, and are a lot better than any of the cheap pizza shops round here.

recommend sausage and meatball :) bbq dip is also good.

they also taste much better when u get them at 50% off.

When they first started springing up, I used to stagger home every friday and saturday night scoffing a 14" (or whatever the biggest is) pizza from there for £3.99 and still did when they selfishly increased it to £4.99. Last time I bought one, whilst it was infinitely better than the rubber cheese and sparse topping of a pizza hut job (which without fail nearly always falls off in one lump from the base), it just wasn't as nice any more and cost almost triple the price of the good old days.

Would you not experiment with your local pizza shop? They do better deals (sometimes) and they let you play around with the topping a lot.

It's an option, but they dont deliver. Kinda hoping for a delivery so I can have a lazy night in.
