So I nodded on a rx8 that I have ended up winning and am regretting already!

56000 miles
Warm starting problem ( could just need a new starter) or a full rebuild)
No service history (but he's given me the name of previous garages that have services it)

Now my worry is its sold to me for £2050 for a 55plate rx8 230bhp 6 speed manual! Is that not dirt cheap???

Yea I asked about the bonnet he said it was the picture!

I got 2 owners when I did a hpi?? Which is why I then emailed saying your friend was the first own can you find out what history it has from speaking to him !

His friend was the second not the first. HPI is showing you previous owners.

It's showing 2 owners current one would be second so the guy he bought it off would be 1 surely??

To be honest if you can't even read a HPI certificate properly I wouldn't trust your views on whether you'll lose money on a car you know nothing about.

There's no need to start insulting my reading of a website! I assumed by previous owners that ment how many it had been registered since new! Sure it's a common mistake mr perfect!

the guy is starting to get pretty arrogant with me now demanding the deposit now and that i go get the car today! when i clearly emailed saying if i won i would be able to collect for 2 weeks due to work commitments which he agreed to!

Did you agree that although you wouldn't pick it up for two weeks you also wouldn't leave a deposit? if you didn't I'd be asking for a deposit if I were the seller.

no, but i have said to him that in his advert it says he is expecting to get the V5 before the end of the auction which he still hasn't had, so i emailed saying im not going to allow any money to go to him until AT LEAST he can prove it is his car!

Nowhere in the auction does it say deposit required, so along with waiting for the genuine V5 (which I would insist upon arriving as a minimum) I would tell him tough luck, it isn't taxed and it is on road, he is crapping heimself I would imagine :D

Didn't these come with an 8yr engine warranty? (100,000 mile)?

Yes but only if it's serviced when it should be by Mazda!

I haven't refused to pay! I just said I would not be paying anything untill the v5 was back with him and I could call a garage on Monday!

I can't link him with a Facebook account ! Do you know him or something?

Yea exactly! If tomo I called the Mazda garage and they turn around say oh yes it's got a history of this this and this then I'd be happier but he didn't even allow me 2 days :/

Thats kinda the sort of thing you do before you buy a car not after.

Yea yea well that's to late now isn't! I admit I did wrong I've said that!

His name isn't the one you mentioned is hyett

well vie told the guy im just calling mazda to see about any history he's not replying so i guess i got out of that one luckily! lesson learned!

Could you call them anyway, would be interesting to know?

You could report him to eBay if he tries to reports you since he cannot/could not prove that he had legal entitlement to sell the car at the time of sale or that he was the registered keeper?

Mazda
Starter motor kit in. 2006
Oil cooler
Been in for a misfire problem
Had a PCM upgrade ( what's that??)

No service records with mazda tho!

Royston motors ( where apparently most work has been done )
Don't remember the car but will check with other fitters!

Think there's something hiding here
