Hi all

So i now have the PC up and running, Now i cant connect to the Wireless WIFI... It seems to work in the same room on the laptop and phones but not the PC... Any solutions please

I stuggled with connection drops with my dongle in a different room, best bet is to get a PCI-E wireless card. worked wonders for me.

Where can i get one of them in shops?? Also is there any alternate i can try now whilst bored at home?

You need to post more information before anyone can help you. Is the dongle detected? What make is it? Can it see your wireless network? Etc

Sorry if i didnt explain well, I was meant to be asking if a dongle is what i would need as my computer is only saying VPN and Dial up networks are the only available ones

I think what you're saying is that you don't have a wifi card in your pc.

Just buy a usb wireless adapter. ocuk sell them

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!

So ive bought a Network Adapter today got home and cant find my External disc drive to install the Adapter... Can i take it into work and install there then bring it home or has it got to be on the PC the adapters for??

You might not even need to use the disc at all. On the disc will be the drivers for the network adapter, but windows may already have them built in.

It's worth plugging the adapter in and seeing whether Windows automatically detects and installs drivers for it. Windows is surprisingly good at this nowadays. If it does, you can then browse to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers over the Internet, or just leave the windows ones if you want!

If that doesn't work then another option would be to plug your PC directly in to your WiFi router using a network cable. Then you should be able to browse to the manufacturer's website and get the right drivers for your wireless adapter.

Well, you're installing it on the PC so unless you can take the PC to work, no it won't work like that.

Do you know the model of the wireless adapter you bought?

I shall plug it in and see if windows detects and installs it....

Yet another issue to report, ive downloaded the link from above but now its all installed it doesnt detect the adapter

Just to check, the adapter is plugged in right? Tried a different USB slot?

Right click the start menu icon, select device manager, can you see the wifi adapter under "Network Adapters"?
