Hi there

Just booked this, @kindai is coming along also, there is 25 spaces left if anyone here is interested:

https://www.rmatrackdays.com/Track-Days/Book/Donington-Park-Grand-Prix-50-Car-Day-28-01-2022/1062

Anyone joining us mention our names when booking if your booking a garage so we can all be grouped together and email this address:
[email protected]

Hope to see some of you there, also with a 50 car limit and open pit lane should guarantee no queuing and hopefully less red flags.

I shall be taking:
Dry - Lotus
Damp but not raining - Porsche
Cold/Wet/Rain - Yaris

Should be a fun day and at £199 is cheap for Donnington with such a low car count, a normal day with RMA is 70 cars and a day with some other organisers can be as many as 90 cars.

Also RMA allows overtaking on both sides! :)

Might be tempted in my trusty MX-5, I'll be the slowest guy there by the sounds of it :p

Also probably the only one hoping it's wet :D

Started making a weird noise from the offside rear though, should probably check that before commiting to anything...

If the weather is decent and business pressures allow, I will see if I can join on the day if the weather is good.

Ive done that before with LOT and Donington is only 30 minutes from home.

If the track conditions are anything like last time an MX5 on decent wet tyres would have overtaken everything it was that slippery. An MX5 would also be one of the most fun cars to drive in such conditions too. Not done an RMA day for years, they tend to attract the more seasoned track drivers I find so somewhat better manners but at same time some truly crazy fast people.

Leyton has assured me overtaking is only with consent and straights only, that fact it can be either side is nice as it means I can stay online if someone wants to pass me and not have to dive out the way so to speak.

It's definitely fun in the wet, I was at Oulton Park and Brands Indy end of November/early December, both were wet (although Brands had by far the less grip) and also great fun :D I was also at Donington (National, just noticed this is GP!) earlier in the year, stupidly hot but good fun, only think I didn't like was decided to do it all in one day - 2.5-3 hour each way just isn't fun :p

I agree with the overtaking on both sides, can see why they do it but if 'everyone' is familiar with track driving it sounds easier all round really.

Was no grip central in the MX5 when I was there in December!

Whats yours and kindais names.. Gonna check with wife and will book on. M3 or MX5 race car.. Decisions

Im taking the AV whatever the weather :D
Love the way you treat your suoercar effectively like a Mondeo or indeed whatever else run of the mill, it lives in your drive and gets used whatever the weather or occasion , you own it and use it.

So many supercar owners just leave them under dust sheets and haven’t the first clue about their abilities….

You do it right!

Drop them an email and ask for a garage next too or close to Andrew Gibson, they should sort it. :)

Damn, if I had my M4 or still had something to take on track I’d come to this, I remember the last one I came to 10+ years ago was fantastic value and so so much fun.

Weather is looking spot on. Cool air, sunshine that will hopefully get some temp into the track and no rain hopefully!

Fingers crossed think I’m gonna take the gamble and bring the Exige and hope it dries out.

Im in garage 10! :)

If I wasn’t going to Sweden on Monday I would’ve booked on to this! Weather looks like it should be good.

I’m out at Donington on 11th, probably in the MX5 as it’s had a few winter mods too it, I’ll keep the M3 in the garage until it warms up a bit.

Managed to book 10 days so far. Shame Silverstone have taken their days in-house as I wanted an RMA day there.
