Donnington, Trackday - 26th Feb

on the novices second session, 6 people span off on that corner within as many minutes, i overcooked it on the advanced group getting past a GT4, merc and an elise in 1 go :D
realised it was wet and i was getting close to the corner, hehe

Best "off" of the day goes to the VX220 driver who went into the gravel so hard that it ripped a chunk out of his fibre-glass rear skirting and wedged loads of bits of gravel between the wheel rims and tyres. A small crowd developed whilst they set about digging the gravel out of the wheels with keys :D

Well the ringing has just stopped in my hearing and I've got my balance back.

First proper trackday for me, and first track outing with the DC5 - great fun.

I got black flagged on the first session for noise - 102, came in - put the bung in and went out to get another black flag - 101 this time so the bung didn't do much. I think it's engine noise rather than exhaust noise tbh. So I spent the day not being able to go over 6,500/6,750 rpm which with 9k available was pretty blummin annoying. Away from the microphones I had some fun with with Elises/VX's/Scoobs/Evo's, untill the straights where I was short shifting which really started to get to me after a while and I just couldnt be rsed to go out on the last session.

Si - A42 clip - Right Click

Will have a nose through whatever else I've got on the video camera & just throw the best bits up.

GT2 - what a car. Just mind blowingly quick. Monster.

The CSL ****head - words fail me.

Cossie - idiot

Mini's - annoyingly slow but fair play - they had as much right to be on track as anyone else and on the whole were really courteous.

Took your time replying, youve got to see my bodge to get me home, its worth of a prize!

CSL wouldn't move over and on a later session after I annoyed him by keeping with him for 5 laps he ovetook on the right and got black flagged

Absolute prat in a scooby on way home (not at Donny i don't think) undertaking and cutting everyone up on a pretty busy road. He got a surprise I think.

Such a shame that you exhaust was too loud, really must have been fustrating. I had a wicked day, really wish i had an in car video cam though, would have been some good footage

^ Felt well rough when I got home. Couldn't hear properly and felt a bit unsteady too. Probably a mixture of the noise and the cold.

We definately MUST take a camera mount next time - would have been ace watching you fight it out with the CSL. Clearly he just couldnt swallow the fact an old Rover was quicker. :D

Apologies for the quality of the track vids. Trying to track smoothly whilst poking the camera through the wire fencing and with freezing cold hands is bloomin' hard! :)
