before you lock this scuzi, this IS a serious thread, are the mods/dons constantly monitoring their allocated board area 24/7.

im not taking the michael but what do you do whilst in the working hours of 9 to 5? and your social life ourtside? just seems that you's are always on the look out

They take shifts, except for Gilly who is everywhere at all times.. theres is no weakness time period.. there are no exceptions..

There's always more than one mod for each forum and they thus don't need to be around 24/7. Combined with this if you RTM a post they get an e-mail with a link to the post so they can effectively moderate a forum without ever properly reading it.

There are quite a few moderators which generally gives round the clock cover but not always, especially in the wee hours of the morning.

Most of us

D) have jobs and active social lives so despite your implications, we're not sad geeks

Of course they don't, that's why there's Report post button and there's always more than one mod per board.

yea but they cant sit in work and monitor the boards unless they all get together and plan a rota for the week, and then that would be sad

You assume that we all have 9-5 jobs. That is not the case.
