Dont Kill with fire!

It's childish enough to kill something for a laugh, but whatever. I think it is worse that you feel the need to boast about it on a forum. :/

Rather put a cat in a bin than do that to a spider, spiders are part of the earth and keep things in check, cats just kill birds and mice.

pretty sure the people who own insects and arachnids will be pretty miffed you say it's ok to kill their pets because they aren't cuddly....

It's not an indangered species. Its not going to cause the natural way of things to change drastically. How many spiders are killed when we walk from A to B over the fields? How many bees\flys\butterflies and spiders are killed by trains, planes, buses, cats and dogs?

It's 1 human, 1 tiny human...Within a mile of where I'm sitting how many humans do you think there are living, with no problems.

It's not an endangered species. It's not going to cause the natural way of things to change drastically. How many humans are killed during one day? How many humans are killed by trains, planes, buses, cats and dogs?

Indeed. My friend strokes his spider. She's a big girl but an absolute pussy, I've seen a cricket intimidate her.
 
Don't get why people hate spiders, has an influx of women started to overclock?

Unless you eat it or it attacks you, you should not try to kill it.. Standard rule

My point was that there is no reason, and in my view it is simply not acceptable to kill something for fun. Be it a spider, a dog, or a human.

To say it does not matter because 'its only a spider', or 'they have a large population' is ridiculous as the same argument can be made for other things. E.g. dogs.
 
I don't kill them for fun, but I don't like em ( read as: scared for big spiders, small ones I don't mind I pick them up and throw em out of the window but large ones, I'm afraid they bite or whatever) and I'll feel better if it's gone from my room or around me. They also cause a mess (webs)...

What are your views on hunting then ?
Fishing ?

Neither are endangered species.

Fishing is fine as it is done to acquire food, rather than just for the satisfaction of killing something.

Hunting is the same, as long as it is not done for fun, or for a sport.

That's my view anyway :)

Quite funny, I don't endorse the killing of small animals but it isn't the same as a cat or a dog. spiders die all the time during the daily running of our lives, i probably ran over several on the way to work, a few died in the harvesting of this coffee etc.
 
Where are all the people in the thread shouting OUTRAGE at a cat being put in a bin? Spiders not cute enough for them to care? :)
 
If the woman that visited the toilet had of seen the spider before it was like this, she probably would have stamped on it anyway! I know I would have :o
