The intel one has more CPU power but the AMD one has more GPU power. It depends on what you need to use the PC for.

I have re-done the i7 system to make it better.

for gaming you dont need more than 4GB and a quad core, and the motherboard still does crossfire at 16X/16X

I like the look of that AMD setup stulid. That case has a 120mm rear chassis fan so the h50's radiator can be "sandwiched" between that fan and it's supplied 120mm fan for a push pull config to improve the cooling.

A nice and well thought out rig

what about

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz
Asus M4A87TD Evo
Corsair XMS3 4GB
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 Vapor-X 2048MB
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Corsair H50
Corsair TX 750W
Antec 300
LG driver

Total : £881.70

its good,

but the psu is not modular, and thats a smallish case to be hiding wires in.

and the motherboard doe not support crossfire, if this interests you?

a single nvidia fast card.

a six core cpu.

modular psu and still the nice big case.

will the Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 support crossfire?

no, only the 890GX or FX chipset do it right.

older 790GX/X/FX chipsets also do it.

and by "right" i mean symmetrically, so each card gets equal bandwidth

thats why if you picked a Nvidia card, it don't matter if it supports crossfire or not, you will never be able to run two Nvidia cards on a AMD chipset.
