I bought an ultima vanquish last week and was under the impression that the systems were overclocked to 4GHz, just downloaded CPU-Z and it's only saying intel core i7 930 at 2.80GHz, should i not be seeing my cpu at 4GHz
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. What is the multiplier showing?
It may be speedstep, this will increase to 20x ~ odd when at full load, if this does not, boot into the BIOS and press F11 (I think) and hopefully there should be a saved Overclock profile.
If you have any further problems then it may be better to post in the customer forum below:

Download Prime or Intel Burn Test, this will hopefully increase the multiplier.
This sounds like Speedstep, I have done a thread a while ago, which may help: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17972811
So are you saying it only uses the 4GHz when it really needs it then
but i might want 4GHz when im using calculator or notepad
But it saves valuable power though! If you really want Speedstep off, you can turn it off in the BIOS.
