Don't laugh at me!

Nikeair, isn't it easier to divide by 10 then multiply by 7? That's how how I always work out a percentage that like that. Or am I missing a reason why it needs to be 7 in the first place in this example?
 
It seems to me that his question was only actually answered by me. He asked how much he needs if he wants to keep £500 after loosing 30%. You can only times by 0.7 if you know the amount you need in the first place. Otherwise you're picking out random numbers till you get £500 left over.

Nope just follow exactly what I put in my post and the calculator will give you the answer everytime.
