how your weekend was just so they can talk about how awesome their weekend was?

Sometimes, they're just being social and thats fine, I have no problem with that but its the ones that go on and on and on about what they got up to that is annoying.

Worst "I had a great weekend" thread.

You should probably pre-empt this by making sure you go on at great length about your weekend before they do.

That or walk away mid sentence. They'll probably get the hint.

Thankfully at work the people I work around are a lot older than me so their weekends involve looking after their kids or working on their boats so I don't have to worry so much, not that I do anyway :p

bizarre. do you often struggle interacting with people?

Yeah, I'm hopeless.
Tonight I'll be gigging in front of 250 people and I won't say a thing on stage or when I'm off.
I don't know why my diary is full.

On the other hand I treat 'How was your weekend' like 'Not nice weather we're having at the moment'.
I don't see the need to extend the conversation.
Oh and you don't know me to say what you did, you obviously thought 'walk off' was walking off in a huff.

No I just think it's bizarre. You know you should have said something, which means you're not ignorant, yet you choose not to ask them. I can't think why? Even if you're not interested it's just politeness I guess?
