Yep I've done that, a few hours after restringing. Only time I've ever broken the A string when rocking out. I blame the set of strings

Crazy, I almost never break a string.. I can't actually remember the last time I did. Then again, I usually change them every few weeks or so to keep them sounding good

My bassist really hits hard (especially Motorhead) and I've only seen him break one string in 6 years and he changes them once a year even if he doesn't need to.
The Gibson Les Paul Standard by my side hasn't had a string change since I bought it in 2001.
The guitarists in my band change their strings every two gigs on two guitars each but they rehearse with other guitars.
