For reliability buy Jap, for the driving experience buy German .. just make sure you have either deep pocket or a flexible friend :D

3 days before I was due to trade in my first car I was coming home late at night and two deer jumped onto the car (id already stopped) smashing the front grill up and denying the bonnet, ideal! The bloke only knocked £60 off though.
 
You are moaning about an easy to fit cheap sensor and a key fob battery???

I would be more concerned about the turbo mate, if you genuinely did clean the turbo have you not asked yourself where the junk came from I.e faulty inlet piping, egr fault or blown turbo seals on inlet side (much less smokey). Also you say you had to free up the vanes in the turbo... How did your car drive with a seized turbo??? It would be like driving with a McDonalds straw for an exhaust.

Ahh re-read the thread, I thought you meant the compressor wheel.
