Doom for free for 1 week (1st level only i think) on steam

Had a go, got a mix of medium to high and few ultra that it seemed to setup. Got about 60fps sometimes i little higher sometimes a tiny bit lower never lower than about 55. Based on my rig in sig. Looked just as good as utube vids so wouldnt need more settings any higher so considering its pretty good for my 670. Who needs 1080 eh haha.

Still saying all that. Nice enough game as it is, not for me. Its just mindless shooting monsters which i knew thats what it was i just thought maybe it had more to it like not just monster killing i thought maybe puzzles like fix this to get through that or talk to survivers for help or somit. For what it is it does well i guess.

Nice, thanks for the heads up. I've been on the fence about getting this since it was released.

Doom going back to the shareware/freeware days!

Except back in the days it was the whole first third of the game and it was free forever.. not just a week :P

Looking forward to giving this a try though.. The new Doom has been a pleasant surprise (according to reviews)

It's ok - but it's very similar.

Walk/run, kill monsters with gun/fists, get a weapon upgrade, walk/run, ,kill monsters etc etc etc

Nothing new about it - played demo for about 15 mins then uninstalled.

pretty much same as me was going to buy in steam sale. now i wont.

in first minute could pretty much see the repetition in it which for a doom nut was a bit sad. :(

Steam sale at £10 I'd by it otherwise I feel it's overpriced for the gameplay available etc. Nice of them to give out a demo though, I have missed those!

It's DOOM... what do you expect!

That is all you do in wolfenstein and that game was frigging great.

Played it, was going to wait for my new card to come before I did as it's not much fun graphically on a 750Ti.

I love the gameplay but there seems to be some odd mouse movement post-processing going on.

Managed to remove the smoothing but it still doesn't feel right, like there's still acceleration.

I'm glad I tried it as I probably won't buy it until they patch that crap out.
