Doom for free for 1 week (1st level only i think) on steam

Can't seem to download it, I click on download demo then my cursor gets the loading thing, That goes away and nothing happens.

Tried the demo, its very short. The game itself seems OK but its far to short to form an opinion on such a small segment of gameplay. From what I did see though, personally I preferred Wolfenstein TNO.

That is all you do in wolfenstein and that game was frigging great.

that's because Wolfenstein had a plot and a nasty atmosphere  plus it reflected accurately what the Nazis were like, the game is therefore slightly disturbing and engages your emotions LIKE IT SHOULD BE !!! but Doom 2016 has nothing at all

if you wanted DOOM to be like Wolfenstein, then you'd need to call it something else, because the die hard DOOM fans would complain like crazy wouldn't they ;)

It's ok - but it's very similar.

Walk/run, kill monsters with gun/fists, get a weapon upgrade, walk/run, ,kill monsters etc etc etc

Nothing new about it - played demo for about 15 mins then uninstalled.

What did you expect? That sums up just about every single FPS ever.

Wolfenstein was a true reflection of Nazis? I guess Hellboy was a documentary then?

Mp is a massive disappointment, Id are bringing it back in-house to fix it, other than not handing it to some b team to make in the first place, then they really can't do anymore at this point.

As for the SP campaign, its fast, lots to shoot, harder difficulties for those that like a challenge, other than adding co op/better weapons with sounds(nitpicking) its hard to imagine it being much better while still retaining the doom feel.

It sold well, got great reviews - don't know what some of you are driveling on about.

Wolfenstein was a true reflection of Nazis?

..

in essence yes very much so, but the depiction in the game that they won WW2 and thus the game that you're playing years later, is of course total rubbish.........but say they had won WW2, then yes it might have been similar, but i expect the tech and robots etc would've been more advanced.
