All the door cameras seem to be (without exception) door bells. I really don't want that function. Does anyone know of a door camera that doesn't have a bell push?

Battery or powered?
Would consider either. At the moment I have a camera on there, but it's old tech and connected to a video server in the loft. Would like to modernise it. Right now it has a power supply to the door, so could keep that.

Could you just use a normal camera mounted in your porch looking at your front door if you don't want a door bell?

Alas not. People tend to stand really close to the door. To see who they are the camera has to be right in front of them, meaning it has to be on the door.

I think you'll struggle here as majority of the market will be after a doorbell with a camera.

Ideally you need a camera on the side of the door that has a good wide angle lens. If you stick it on the door it'll just stand out / get in the way?

I'd imagine either a Ring or Blink stick up camera would do the job. The Blink is a bit more subtle design - could easily stick it up above a door for this task.

Friend of mine has a peephole camera on his front door. Seems decent enough. From the outside it just looks like a normal peephole. An eBay job I think...will see if he has the link.
