Door Lock Insert

Be careful when entering the back door. Unauthrised entry may result in screaming, assault, revocation of privilages and possibly a jail term.

Best to announce your intentions first and then proceed with caution.

If you are using blanks then I see no reason not to use the front door with reckless abandon....

As G.S.Glazing suggested, just change the euro cylinder while your away as it's a 2 minute job.
Just check the split on the cylinder required, normally either a 30mm/30mm (shown in 1st post) or 60mm/30mm covers it depending on the door type if I remember correctly.
 
Or he could just remove the spindle from the door as its free and takes 30 seconds to do.

OP also said he doesn't want to change the lock.
