I'm a frequent LoL player, any other LoL players have some thoughts to share? (I'm pretty sure I'll like this as well since I just seem to like Moba type games... I've played some HoN as well). Is it worth getting into early? Much different to LoL?

It's a million times better, it'll take you longer to get into though as there are so many more things to learn in DoTA

I've played a bit of LoL but I can tell you what is different.

Everything seems faster to me, base movement speed in LoL seems very slow, maybe it is because it is floaty compared to Dota but nothing feels like it has weight or moves very fast.
You can courier like in HoN.
Spells aren't like LoL, you can spam them in lane nearly in LoL, a normal 'QWE' spell could be considered a ultimate in LoL, you have to be much more careful laning. (and obviously a deny mechanic.)

It isn't really early at this stage anymore but it is certainly worth getting in to and seemingly the only way is up with a competent company like Valve running it and listening the the community well.

As above without saying it is outright better, although I personally believe it is there is a heck of a lot more to learn, but it is a much more rewarding game.

yeah dota is definitely harder than LoL, but a lot more fun. Day/night is one of the things I love about dota, and couriers. Really miss the couriers when I play LoL.

Wouldn't mind some steam names of people from OCUK I can play with.

Recently picked this up and I love it, currently level 3 I think and I know what I am doing (with viper anyway)

I've been trying to get to grips with broodmother over the last few days.

Anyway just wanted some friendly OCUK peeps to play with, as my friends play HON or LOL, this is the first MOBA style game I have played, I tried HON after this and it just felt dated in comparison.

Add me up - WOGANATOR.

I'm on pretty much every evening, play a lot.

I'd be up for some noob only games if we can get something organised.

I've played 45 hours of DotA 2 since I got into the beta then stopped because the community is full of morons.

I play games for fun, not to be abused for making a mistake while I'm still trying to learn wtf I'm supposed to be doing.

Welcome to every PC game where you're forced to play in small teams of strangers.

It happens in CoD, BF, SC2 and it's the worst in Moba games like Dota and LoL

It's always been a big shame of the MOBA genre that this happens. 1/2 my games result in atleast 2 people ****ging each other off, that's including if we're winning to... then at the same time I see someone do something stupid that clearly has either cost us a team fight or even the game and I can't help but want to rage at them :p

I guess the best way is to just ultimately play in a group with no randoms, but the group we used to play with scattered to the winds (gord/damien/timmy/youself and a few more). Was good fun though whilst that lasted.

This is the best game Ive played in years.

Ive just clicked with it.

I concentrate primarily on playing Nightstalker and Im becoming pretty competent and learning a lot. Had a few 30:0 kills to death ratio games.

My advice is try a handful of characters early , then find which one you liked most and concentrate on playing it over and over.
