Thanks to Damien for the key, played a few games so far -- games feel better for me than HoN, they last longer so there feels like more chance to turn things around, where as in HoN I didn't like how it felt like 10 minutes in you knew who was going to win, it was just waiting the last 5-10 minutes out.

Any idea when this is coming out of beta?not managed to get a key yet
not for a long time. They wont release until they've ported every hero from dota1, got the bots much more intelligent and implemented stuff like the tutorials, guides e.t.c.
I'd say 6 more months of beta at least.
There was a post on the dev forum about beta testers getting given more keys at some point but it hasn't happened yet.
Also I found it hard enough to go from HoN to DotA2, going from LoL will take a lot of getting used to
I still don't like the hero balance, especially anti mage. I'm 9-2 as that hero now I think lol. I end up picking him just because I don't want the other team to which sucks

I was just a bit annoyed that they're giving away the DotA keys to people that don't even want them in the Great Gift Pile promotion and the majority of those people are trying sell them or trade them for things like Skyrim. It's only a beta key ffs and the game client will probably/maybe be free anyway.

Yeah it sucks. So many people who wanted in didn't get it and now random people have the keys
That said, I imagine theyll continue to be handing out keys to people who applied. The amount of people online at any given time has been continually increasing since I got into the beta so new users are coming along all the time.
I registered on there this month but don't qualify for the draw because the cut off is October or something like that.
The beta key section of the forum on there is horrendous. I offered to trade the Orange box on Steam for a key and was contacted by a scammer almost immediately.
