Hey all
Just need 2nd set of eyes to take look over this spec, I had few concerns but after bit of research I think it's sound but saying that it’s been awhile since I put system together from scratch.

Cooler Master HAF X Gaming Tower Case - Black (RC-942)
XFX 750W Black Edition Modular Power Supply
Asrock Z68 PRO3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor
Corsair Hydro H70 High-Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1024MB
Intel 320 Series 120GB 2.5" SATA-II 25nm Solid State Hard Drive
Samsung SH-B123L/RSBP 12x BluRay ROM DVDRW DL & RAM Lightscribe

Still undecided on sound card I was thinking about given the Asus Xonar DX 7.1 a bash any views on that card would be appreciated.

Thank in advance

Mainly gaming? An i5-2500K is all you need, i7 won't benefit you as the it's only advantage is hyperthreading which games don't make use of.

You only NEED 4GB of for gaming, most games won't take up this much, however if you want 8GB for headroom for multitasking then fair enough, but if you wanna shave off some more money to put towards a 570 or something...:D

The Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H will allow crossfire/SLI in the future should you want that option, and if you don't want that option then you can drop the PSU down to an Antec High Current Gamer 620w which is also the seasonic based design (same as XFX) and only a cracking deal at £49.99 while stocks last.

Also no HDD?

What is your budget? I put them all in and it was around £1200 ish so thats what I based it on but haven't included a soundcard as I personally don't think it's necessary unless your an audiophile, as onboard sound has come a long way. I've made two specs, one similar to yours but with a 570 and some cutting back on a few things to spec in a 580:D

There you go.

£174 for the 560Ti.

£70 saved on the processor.

£45 saved on the PSU.

£40 saved by getting 4GB of RAM.

Total £329 and you're heading towards GTX 580 territory.

Thanks both certainly take that advice onboard I've already drop few hundred going with I5-2500k and psu options.

@ sk82jack
HDD for storage or do I need to run SSD and HDD together?

Current budget is around £1000-1200.

HDD for storage, SSD for OS/apps/games.

As I said, only drop to the Antec if you don't want the option of going crossfire or SLI.

They are both great cards, but go for the 580 if the choice is that linear.

P.s. I would drop the SSD for gaming, not really able to justify that imo.

Thanks again both you have been very helpful.

Think I’ll go with your 580 setup few adjustments just break my budget by £50 :D

Same as above but with these amendments.

Corsair Hydro H70
G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz (extra head room won't hurt)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache (going for £28.99 also have 500gb external drive)

Thanks again

+1 yes son.
