I have somehow reached the grumpy age in life where I detest the idea of paying for a coffee in a shop like this. I will do so on occasion, but not religiously like my frivolous days gone past. I find coffee shop prices to be douchey.
Then I read that this town has a bijillion independent coffee shops that are frequented by "artists, writers, therapists, musicians, and herbalists" a.k.a. big bunch of douchebags. Independent coffee shops are even worse because they exist purely on dumb smugness, the part of people that goes 'ooooo going to buy something organic and fairtrade, it's better for the locals' to make them feel better about of themselves. The smart businessmen jingle their coppers to the bank with hearty laughs, harrrr!
And I will say on behalf of anyone who has ever been a barista, if you have ever ordered a soya decaff cappachino with a flavour shot, die.
Douchebag town or me being a grumpy choadface?
