Crashed the Tuono My lad just got his new bike on the road so tok him out for some fatherly guidance . Decided to deliver some crimbo cards and do a few miles to help him get used to the bike and being on the road .

Was cold and wet but not a bad day and mostly sunny with the odd bit of rain . Had made 4-5 stops and was getting to the last one . He stays in a culdesac and has a lot of overgrown trees overhanging the road . Now i know it gets very slippery down there and i was doing maybe 5-6 mph but just as i got to his drive the front washed out on me and down i went .

Crash bungs did there job and very little damage .. tiny scuff on the back edge of the zorst . . small bend in the gear lever and thats about it . I though i was fine but hurt my wrist as you will see in the video !1

Video you say ? yes i managed to fall off in front of cctv so for your amusment i have stuck it on utube for you all to have giggle :)

funny how much CCTV skews stuff

that looks considerably more than 5 or 6 mph

but you can tell by the way you landed, and how much momentum the bike had when it skidded it wasnt. Porably due to the poor frame rate of CCTV i guess ?

Ouch, unlucky....

Glad it's only minor damage. I was out on the bike today and the amount of diesel on the road was frightening. Makes me want crash bungs even more. My plastics would cost a fortune to replace.

Keep the bike rubber side down bikers!

Videos like that make me glad I have a car as it wouldn't have even registered that one wheel might lose traction for a second at that speed and I would need to do anything apart from drive up the pavement and onto my drive.

"Son, this is how you shouldn't ride". I'm sorry but the video is pretty funny :D

Unlucky, I did things like that all the time. It's always the stupid accidents that catch you out but thankfully no real damage done.

Have parked my car in the hedge at the same place... i should have known better . And just 5 mins before i warned my son to take it easy as it was very slippery lol

Damn, that was no speed at all.

I like the father-son gestures just after the bikes been picked up.. where you take it in turn to put your hand on each others shoulder :D

CCTV is time frame and compressed into database format so it is faster in the film than it was in RL . remember i was pulling into the driveway with a garage in front of me...

The mulch/leaves are about 1" thick and hard to walk on never mind ride on . And i was single finger feathering the front brake hence why the front end went... When we looked later there is a slide mark then a gap then another slide mark so i guess it slid first and i left off then touched the brake again and down i went .. Its hard to see on the vid as it all happens a lot faster on that ..

It's gutting doing low speed spills. Somehow more so than faster ones.

Glad you're not too badly hurt and that the damage wasn't too bad.

figured it was something like that

the bike must have only skidded about a foot when you fell, so it was obvious you werent going fast.
