Hi,

I recently sold on my 2405 and got a 2007, since getting the smaller panel I have found gaming much easier... I can only put it down to the fact that my Peripheral vision can pick up everything on the smaller screen?!

Or maybe its the fact that the panel has faster repsonse times... either way I'm not as sad at loosing the 24" as I thought I would be!

The 2405 had a ~50ms panel lag, perhaps you're perceiving that difference. I noticed the change when moving from the 2405, but it remains a great screen.

Lower resolution ? 1680 x 1050 from 1900 x 1200 is now an easier job for your gfx card.

The difference is that now you are the proud owner of an IPSpanel (by Philips), which to me is a bit more responsive and has practically no vertical or horizontal colour shift.

Also the Dell screen surfaces add a little fine grain which is awesome for displaying photographs and very kind to your eyes for long periods, but that's also true for the bigger 2407. Both Very well balanced products though, in terms of price/performance.

any Backlight issues so far?

Interesting thread since I'm considering the opposite switch, 2007->2407. Certainly the 2007 is a very quick screen in terms of pixel response and thankfully has no noticeable lag. As for peripheral vision, if I had the 2407 I would probably put it further back on my desk to offset this a little.

I haven't used a 2407 though so I dunno how I would find it. My only serious complaint against the 2007 is the black depth, but that's only an issue in a few games (Stalker may well be one).

Really???????????

My gaming improved moving from a 20" to a 30"... i think the higher resolution helps

yeah the back light issue, having owned a 2005fpw that's my concern with the 2007fpw.

however NEC seem to get the best in terms of blacks and uniformity from the same panel technology. :)

I wrekon 20wgx2 would have even better blacks had used the dell screen surface. It's a more light absorbant surface, where as the opticlear you just see the image. brighter

me concidering the wuxi26. :)
