Anyone care to recommend the best download manager out there at the moment? I used to use getright but haven't used one for a couple of years so no idea which to look at to avoid spyware etc.

Any thoughts?

Net Transport is the dogs nuts. You can even download streaming media to a file with it. Plus it's a lot faster than using IE/Firefox to download.

Faster?

I use Net Transport (just incase my wireless has a little hiccup in the middle of a big download) but i can't say I've seen speed increases

I have. When I download with a single thread through firefox on windows the download rate starts off fast but then deteriorates, but when I use Net Transport with a few threads on the go the performance is great. I don't seem to have the same problem on my mac though. The speed is usually good, even though the interface for the download managers on Safari and Camino are rubbish.
Incidently, anyone know a good download manager for Mac?
