I'm wanting to purchase NFS Shift from Game but as a download. Will this get linked to my Steam account or will i forever have to go back to Game incase i need a format?

unsure what's best?

You can get a retail copy with free delivery for £14.99 from the rainforest site.

unless you want really want a dl version.

Looks like it has nothing to do with steam.....

While i am all for the pro's of digital purchases the experience i have had with both GRiD (Metaboli) and NFSS (Direct2Drive) don't inspire me tbh, they are slow to release patches, not necessarily their fault, can't release what they don't have, but it's bad when you can be waiting weeks for a patch to be released for your version meaning you cannot play online with your mates who have a hard copy.

I saw steam NFSS owners moaning about them not getting the patch till later as well

Update
So; an update from me. As I said earlier in the week I would follow-up with the team. I sent a few emails to the guys to help push this along. The Steam process is new to a lot of the guys on the team so it's taken a couple of days to get the process up and running. Steam are now chatting with our engineers and the patch is being processed and sent over to them. I don't know how long it'll take for Steam to propagate the patch once it's with them but I would estimate it should be live around Tuesday or Wednesday next week. If I hear move over the weekend I will update.

Yeah Metaboli are a bit shocking. I bought Call of Juarez from Gamesplanet because it was £7 cheaper than anywhere else, but it doesn't have the latest patch even though it's a 3 year old game.

D2D should be faster at updating though as their fileplanet network is the biggest patch host around.
