I have an imac late 2013 model and can't install Office 2019 as it requires OS 10.14 or later and it has OS X on it at the moment. It looks as though the official links for Mojava and Catalina are dead, so how can I upgrade?

Before I proceed, will there be any issues upgrading from OS X 10.9 to Mojave? I don't want to begin upgrading and then find the system is borked and won't boot.
Yes it says Mojave is supported on this, it's a late 2013 imac. I guess if I do a Time Machine back up first I have nothing to lose if I upgrade and find it doesn't work?
Sorry, what do you mean by have the installer for the OS I'm on ready? I've not really got much experience with Macs.

I don't recall ever being prompted for the previous version when doing an upgrade - Just go for it.
It was more if the process failed and he had to roll back. I can’t remember if Time Machine captures the entire OS state.

I'm wondering if it would be easier to just erase the entire disk, install Mojave installer from USB (from here as I'm on my Windows 10 machine): https://www.uubyte.com/download-macos-mojave-dmg.html )
and then run time machine back up after to restore apps and documents etc. ?

Should be, in fact as part of the new install you'll be asked if you want to transfer stuff using migration assistant and I believe it can take it from Time Machine.
I'd probably plug in an external drive first and take a full SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner backup as well, just to be 100% sure.

I think I've been overthinking things somewhat, I don't know why, maybe it's because I was trying to install Office 2019 on OS X and it obviously isn't supported for that OS, so I was thinking the Mac isn't supported natively with Mojave or something, duh.
I've just realised all I have to do is use the Mojave patcher tool from dosdude1 to download a copy of the Mojave installer from Apple's servers and install that over OS X which is what I'm doing at the moment, hopefully it all goes smoothly.
What I don't understand is why is Mojave still on the Apple servers when it isn't available to install from the App Store.
