Downside to xbox360 arcade?

I dont have a lot of money and after falling out with my pc clan I am thinking of just getting an xbox as I will need to replace my pc graphics card soon and it's like £200-£300 for a good one lol.

A lot of my mates have xbox's so would be nice to play with them.

Any downsides to the arcade?

The arcade has no hard drive, just a 256mb card. Get the elite

Any Xbox Live Arcade titles or game demos that you may download, and the option to install some games from their DVDs to help reduce load times etc.

Just get the arcade for now £99 new and buy a cheap 20GB hdd off e of bay for like £15-20

or if you want 120GB i bought one for £35 delivered

oh so you can do that? Sounds interesting. Can the arcade play hd-dvd's, I have an xbox hd-dvd in the cupboard

I would try and get the Elite. You can get them with 2 good games for £199. Even if you get the arcade for £100, you arn't going to go home with it untill you buy at least 1 game.

Look harder then as there is a Big store doing Elites for 150 quid reduced from £199.

Or you can get 2nd hand with a few games slung in for less than 150 quid just make sure it's a 175w version & it hasn't had the seals broken.

Get an elite and instantly trade the games it comes with against it. I picked one up in town for around £150 doing that.

If it's Brand new then Yes it's a Good deal.
Personally I rate Forza 3 to be the Best game on the 360 bar none & I have mates that say the same about Halo.
In my opinion it'll be the best 190 quid you'll Ever spend.

There is also a few of us that Gift decent cars to noobs to the game to get them started.

That's awesome. You could trade in all those games if you dont want them and get £50ish* credit.

*I'm not totally sure about store trade in prices these days so I'll stand corrected

cheers malc, would you be my buddy on xbox? I want a good mix of real life mates and ocuk people. I'll order BC2 end of april with my birthday money, I ain't got a lot of money atm and don't have a job atm

I have a bit of savings though so xbox is ok, I am thinking of it as a saving, a 5850/5870 is £250-£320

I had an xbox in 2006 and got used to the controller as I played GoW all the time

but went back to PC as I missed my clan people, now it's all dead and I just get dpressed on my pc lol.

I do only play Forza 3 though & I am Old & Loud.

We do have a Great laugh though & have an Excellent crowd of OcUK Dudes on Forza 3. :cool:

I would add that you only need a couple of New titles & can fill your shelves with Loads of Superb titles for a tenner or less.
Those two should get you going but you can spend thirty quid 2nd hand & come home with 3-4 Excellent earlier titles, Crackdown for one.
