My parents are thinking of downsizing and then either one or both retiring. Seems like that might be a reasonable plan for them. Not so sure about doing it when you're young though.

Better still - run the BTL through a Ltd company, and work as a contractor through the same company.

It's IR35 proof and you can pass almost every cost off as expenses.
