DPD delivery

DPD have always been ok but recently they've just gone downhill for some reason in my area. They keep ****ing up and their automated system is crap as it won't let you speak to a person.

Whenever DPD screwed up an order from OcUK, 5UB has always been on hand to sort it out quickly for me :D. No such luck with a competitor :(

I like the 1hr delivery window though.

First experience with DX Secure - guy turned up just before mid-day driving his own car not a branded van, seemed pleasant enough and was careful handling parcels. First experience was passable.

DPD Courier delivered my new monitor yesterday within the time frame specificed on their website. The order email from OCUK had a link that allowed me to view where my order was.

Courier was polite and the box didn't have a single mark on it.

Impressed with them to be fair.

Never had a problem with things sent from Overclockers.
Ordered something from elsewhere yesterday, a TV, with next day delivery.
Email said delivery between 9.58 and 10.58.
Saw the van drive straight past the house at 10.05. Checked on the tracking and lo and behold, "Couldn't deliver, no answer".
I've sent a strongly worded mail to their customer service dept as I just couldn't see a phone number anywhere allowing me to talk to a person. All you get on the site is one to a machine. Not happy.

The bedroom CRT will have to last for another night. :(

I agree it's 100% dependant on where you live.
I got my Saturday delivery today Tuesday, reason given by DPD, driver ran out of time, which is very odd as the delivery window was 11:30-12:30.
The truth is they never bothered because they did not have enough drops to warrant the fuel spent getting from Gloucester to Swindon.

I cannot fault OCUK they did everything they said, it's a shame the courier fails everytime I order.

Could a system be put in place where the buyer can request say Royal Mail if they want to pay extra. If it was say £3-5 more than DPD I would pay it. Just a thought.

With over 10 deliveries at least from DPD in Swindon, no bad experiences whatsoever! Where do you live?

That's odd. I've had 5 or so next day deliveries from DPD in Swindon and have had 0 issues.

Its probably because you live in a decent post code, nearer to the A419 etc? Personally I do, so I guess it is easier for delivery dudes with little drops in my area.

DPD are the best I've used, and I've dealt with CityLink, DHL and others.

The best thing is that they give you a timeslot for delivery - something simple and useful, that the knuckle draggers at other firms haven't worked out yet.

The timeslot is the best feature from DPD.
The only courier i can ever think of thats been bad for me is Amtrak and i don't even know if they still trade?

DPD have been one of the only couriers that have always been excellent.

The accurate time slot is fantastic and so useful in comparison to vague 'between 9 & 5'. They also tell you the drivers name now too, not that it's useful but is a nice touch.

I've never had an issue with DPD when I bought my new PC and monitor from OCuk. Bang in the middle of their 1hr window and the guy treated the packages well.
