DPD Delivery

dpd have always been super dependable and the 1 hr time slots are a godsend

citylink on the other hand when they were ocuk courier/muppets of choice...............

Was expecting a delivery from OcUK today, just seen the DPD van drive right past my place and try to deliver it to the farm office block then drive straight back past again and disappear, my address CLEARLY states East Farm Bungalow and im the only bungalow in the farm he cant miss it going to the office.

Annoyed doesn't even come close.

Where do DPD get these idiots?

Oh dear.

I ordered something today, due to arrive tomorrow by DPD, only then for this thread to appear :p At least I've used my work's address, so should be ok. Psychiatric hospital, admin building there with a big sign that says "deliveries", can't miss it.

It'll be fine...

I've yet to have any issues with them

As others have said that one hour is a godsend for the day's productivity...

You think this thread is bad? there is another on here somewhere that is far larger and has far more DPD horror stories.

And whats the point in this 1 hour period of delivery they email you? the DPD van drove by my place well over an hour after that period had ended.

Thanks KD and NS. It was me ordering with DPD literally today then seeing this thread that had me bemused somewhat. The chances of that happening eh.

Yodel Neighbourhood seems to be the one to watch up for with numerous stories here in GD. I've not personally had a problem with Yodel although they carded me misleadingly saying that they'll try again tomorrow, only for my neighbour to pop around with the parcel, so they obviously carded me then went to the neighbour.

Yodel have nothing on MyHermes...

All delivery companies have issues, and as such any thread will bring about bad posts about them...

DPD actually have a lot less than a lot of the other topics about other delivery services on the forums..

To all those who doubt the OP's story...

This *exact* same thing happened with my last order from OcUK. First day the guy came to my house but we weren't there. So I arranged redelivery for the next day.

Second day, the online tracking website said I'd "refused delivery". Which never happened. I phoned DPD and figured out how to get through to a human (not easy). They said that their GPS data showed the driver had come right to my property.

There was someone waiting here all day and no one knocked at the door.

In the end I had to drive 50 miles to their depot and collect it myself. And I spoke to the manager there. He said the driver had FORGED MY SIGNATURE, because when a delivery is refused they have to get a signature.

He said it was serious breach of driver rules and he'd be having words with him. But that doesn't help me any, I still had to drive to the depot to get my order...

I don't think anyone doubts anyone else's story.

Out of the thousands of parcels DPD must handle every day I'd be surprised if there weren't occasional issues.

These aren't the general rule though and the vast majority can expect to receive their DPD deliveries on time and without problems.

and my point was, is you bothered to read it and understand it was, they drove passed the address with the intention of delivering, they couldn't easily spot the address (maybe its not their normal route) so rather than wasting 10mins driving around looking for it and then messing up a lot more people days off, it is more convenient to skip that one and get the rest out.

Exactly. If a driver was late or didn't get to deliver on the day due to not enough time, all because he had spent the former part of the day looking for some addresses for 10 minutes, argued with some guys the phone why he can't take a detour to a work address or got held up because some guy decided to have a major go at him since they don't like the delivery company - I bet that people would think that's okay. Or not

It all depends on what depot, what driver, what area.
And like it or not, they have to prioritise some shipments.

I'm just outside of Belper and a few weeks back I had a failed delivery because they couldn't find my house, it's not difficult to find and they never even drove past that day; they've been here before too.

Probably the same driver :p.

Previously they've been great though.
